My FIRST Cruise! Progresso/Cozumel Mexico, 012612

After much positive feedback (more, more, more!!) here's another post.  I love my fans...  Jerry and I took a cruise to Mexico the end of January, 2012.  My first!  Our ports in Mexico were Progresso and Cozumel.  Cozumel is, of course, known as a water playground.  We, of course, bucked the trend, rented a jeep and ran all over the island.  Wonderful coastline and a lighthouse!  I truly love lighthouses...  Progresso is known for the Mayan ruins known as Chichen Itza. With all the hub-bub this year with the end of the Mayan calendar, a visit to Chichen Itza seemed appropriate.  I have to admit a few of Jerry's photos make a better (and more amusing) story.  His photos are identified with the date stamp and I have to say, he has a good eye.  Enjoy, my dears.

Icky, icky pea soup fog as we left Galveston.  Luckily it was beautifully clear the next morning.

Fun day at sea.  The water slide was SO MUCH FUN and my "tropical toes" seemed appropriate for Mexico!

Eeeek!  The "winners" of the royal ballgame had the "honor" of sacrificing themselves to the gods and having their countenance inscribed in stone.  Was all that really worth it???

 Cozumel!!!!!!

Obviously, I did not take the photo below.  This epic shot was indeed caught by Jerry using my camera.  Amazing.

Home again, home again jiggety jig.  This time with no fog.
